Capital of South Korea & mecca of one of the most advanced beauty industry in the world, Seoul will be the launching point of Boy de Chanel, the very anticipated high end makeup line for men created by the iconic couture house of Chanel.

Why Seoul and not Paris, for the French luxury house ?

Mark your calendars as the beauty set composed of, a light foundation available in four shades, a hydrating matte lip balm and an eyebrow pencil (coming in a different range of shades), will be available first in South Korea on September 1st.

But why Seoul and not Paris ? Well solely because, the country has always been more open about "men beauty" going beyond simply skin care. Male Kpop group members have always been beautified with makeup, which made it more "acceptable" for men to wear makeup without "any" prejudice. If you walk in any beauty store in South Korea, there is more chance for you to find a whole section of beauty / makeup products for men than if you go to any of these stores in Paris; so it makes more sense for Chanel to first release its line in Seoul, aka capital of the beauty industry.

A safe move for the luxury house to launch in Asia, as the idea is already frowned upon by many who don't understand the need to create a line for men and not just include them in their already existing makeup line Chanel Beauty.

The rest of the world, will have to wait until November to get their hands on the very awaited products; until then our dear men will still have to face the stigma of shopping for makeup, stigma that Chanel is planning to put an end to very soon.
